The Noor is only a five-minute bike ride away for swimming, and old Viking walls around Hedeby have cycling tracks about 15 minutes away. Fahrdorf has shops for supplies, a ten-minute drive from the property. The huge garden was a hit with the kids, with swings, wide lawns, and a volleyball court. My parents liked sitting with a book on a bench by the stream. We spent nine days here with my parents, who are in their 70s, and my two young children. Everyone loved it, and I wished we’d booked another week. The host, Malte, was relaxed and helpful. The beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed. From the road the old inn looked a little worrying when we arrived, but inside we were pleasantly surprised by the modern, rustic feel. It’s an old place being restored with care.

A quiet spot in a green setting, with a very friendly host. We found it a perfect place to stay and the location was just right.
