The biggest drawback was the lack of proper blackout curtains. It was just about manageable in autumn, but we'd expect it to be a problem in summer when daylight comes at 4:30 a.m. The church bell rings every 15 minutes, though by the third day we barely noticed it. The apartment itself is modern, clean, and cozy, right in the heart of Simmern, with courtyard parking. We were welcomed warmly and given a friendly introduction, and felt right at home. While in town, we enjoyed Jung Bakery for breakfast and the incredibly good pizzas at Pizzeria Schwarzer Adler.

The apartment has everything you need for everyday life, and the amenities, comfort, and location were all very good. It's just a 3-minute walk to the shopping street. The landlord is accommodating and very customer oriented, and the price felt justified for what you get. I'd definitely stay here again. The apartment was very unhygienic. The kitchen was filthy, the cutlery was incomplete or broken, the pans were dirty, and the mattress was worn out with unidentifiable spots and sticky tissues on it. The bathroom hadn't been cleaned, the trash can was full of empty beer cans, the windows were dirty, and it was noisy because the apartment is on a busy street. There was no Wi-Fi, among other problems. If you're looking for an adventure, go ahead, but the photos might be enough. We didn't stay and waited to see whether they'd respond to our email and help with the costs. They refunded part of the cost, but it took 3 weeks.

The apartment was clean and nicely furnished, and there's parking in the courtyard, though the place is a bit tucked away. What bothered me most was having no blinds or curtains to block the light. It was already bright at 5:00 a.m.
