The shower is on a different floor, there were no keys for the door, and nobody communicated with us. The house feels ancient, with no work done on it for decades, and it was only superficially clean inside and out. It's a shame places like this are still around. For that price I can find much, much better anywhere, and I never want to stay here again.

The house was so noisy and worn down, and it looked like it hadn't been renovated in 50-60 years. The furnishings were just as basic and rundown. The beds were hard and uncomfortable, and the sheets had a strong fabric-softener smell. We spent ages trying to find someone to greet us when we arrived; at first nobody knew about our reservation, so we had to collect bedding from other rooms. The self-catering kitchen was locked, and the common room wasn't inviting. We left early because we'd had enough. The hosts were only moderately friendly, and the reviews here suggest they're not open to criticism either.

The owner's grandfather came into the room while the owner was away. I caught him once, and my friend did too. Apart from the first few days, the staff didn't take out the trash. The cleaning lady's dog was aggressive while she was cleaning. Grandpa skimps on the heating and even has the nerve to turn the radiators. I don't recommend this place.

Free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate for guests, plus a very friendly host. The rooms are small but charming, and there's a common room. It's a "hidden gem" if you're after great value and a cozy riding stable near Marburg. Highly recommended!
