Mertens

After a long day, I could really unwind here. The room was lovely, spotless, and just right for what I needed. The host family was wonderful, and there’s a beautiful terrace for guests. Breakfast was excellent, the price was good, and the location worked well for me. I’d happily return! 💚🫶

We stayed one night at the guesthouse. The owners were very kind, and breakfast was tasty with a nice range of choices. Our room was clean and a good size. It’s just a few minutes on foot from the old town, and Heidepark is about a 15-minute drive away.

I’m definitely coming back. Mrs. Mertens and her guesthouse are lovely, with welcoming hosts and a fantastic breakfast.

I stay at Pension Mertens for two nights each week when a room is available, and I feel comfortable there every time. Mrs. and Mr. Mertens are so kind and welcoming. They answer questions quickly and politely, and they even remember your preferences if you come often, including leaving out the eggs ;-) The breakfast is a real highlight for me, lovingly laid out like Mom used to make, and you can choose the time. My room is spotless and has what I booked, including a comfortable bed that’s great to sleep in and a separate bathroom with a shower and toilet. That’s all I need.
