A friendly, well-run little family hotel in a handy spot near Wuerzburg, not far from the motorway. I needed a stop on my way to Munich after passing Würzburg, to avoid morning traffic. I called ahead and they assured me a room was free. Reception closes at 7pm because it's a small family business, but the owner lives in the same building. They left a business card and showed me to my room. The owner was very friendly and open, and the whole arrival was stress-free. The room was simple and clean, with good beds, and perfectly fine for a quiet night. There are drinks and snacks available in the basement around the clock. The clean, friendly breakfast room has 11 tables. Breakfast runs until 10am, and an earlier breakfast can be arranged if needed. It feels like more than a 2 star hotel. You can pay by credit card, and English is spoken. A good place to stay.

We came without expecting much and found a lot to like. As far as possible, everything is from biodynamic cultivation, including breakfast, the wine in the fridge and the soap. The owner couple were very friendly, and the house was clean and quiet, with a lovely garden. It's only a few steps from the old city wall and the river "Main". We'll come back.
