We loved our stay in this lovely little hotel. The rooms were clean and nice, the beds were comfortable, the host was friendly and breakfast was delicious. Sommerhausen itself is a super cosy village and a little gem on our journey, well worth seeing.

We felt welcome and comfortable right from the start. The warm, attentive service made the stay wonderful, and it was a lovely place to relax and enjoy time together. The evening's highlight was an outstanding five-course menu. Each dish was delicious, thoughtfully prepared and special in its own way. The wine pairings worked beautifully with the food and made the whole meal memorable. We also loved the impressive wine cellar. It was well worth a visit.

We especially enjoy the Sonnenhöfle in summer, with its stylish atmosphere and the "Sonnenhöfle" that gives the restaurant its name. Mr. Mainardy and Ms. Pähler make a great team: his cooking is precise and creative, while she is poised, very pleasant, and highly capable both in service and in the cellar. The wine pairings are excellent. Ms. Pähler presents two or three options with every course and explains where each wine comes from, its style and character, enough to help you choose. The five-course menu is always superb, with refinement, clarity and seasonal ingredients. You can ask to expand it too. They've recently introduced a three-course Sunday menu that sounds like Mom's cooking, with festive soup, Sunday roast and dessert. We'll have to try it soon. The Sonnenhöfle brings food, wine and atmosphere together beautifully. Highly recommended.

We couldn't get a room at the hotel, so this is just about the restaurant. The two of us had a wonderful six-course meal with wine pairings, and learned a lot about each wine. The food and setting were high standard, but the atmosphere was relaxed, and the service was very friendly and attentive. Visited on May 29, 2025.
