The room was clean and practical, and prices were reasonable. The owners were helpful and very friendly. It's in a quiet residential part of Spiegelau, and the food was very good, with a huge salad bar. Highly recommended!

A big thank you to Franz and Susi for finding room for me for two nights over New Year's Eve, even though I was traveling alone. I felt so welcome. The room was practical, with a renovated mix of old and new furniture, and a good-sized bathroom. The food was excellent, so compliments to the kitchen. The torchlight walk with mulled wine was a brilliant idea, too. Everything was peaceful, and the service was lovely. I'll be back in summer or autumn for sure. About the complaint that meal times are short: Franz and Susi run the place themselves, without waitstaff. At some point people need quiet and a good night's sleep. If someone wants a big hotel with lots of staff, they should book one, though the room rates will be higher.

The pools, saunas, and spa are fantastic, and we loved the short night walk with torches and mulled wine afterward. The hotel owner organized it all. The hotel is in a beautiful setting and seems well suited to a family holiday. We booked half-board, and the meals were delicious and freshly made. Still, our New Year's Eve party was disappointing. The musician didn't do much to lift the mood, and after dinner there were only drinks available. There was no food or snacks from 8 PM until 3 AM. Some parts of the main building have been renovated, though the annex is still unfinished. With the staff shortage, our room was cleaned only twice in six days. The relaxation room isn't close to the saunas, either, so getting there means walking halfway across the hotel. Each morning I got hot water for my takeaway tea, but was charged an extra €5 over the six days. I'd have thought that was a service, especially since I brought my own teabags on five of those days. Why isn't there a kettle in the room?
