We loved eating out on the terrace, it had a great atmosphere, and the food was excellent. The staff were really sweet and friendly, and even though my German isn’t great, a few of them spoke English. The rooms were spacious and clean, and it’s a great escape from the city. The nearby town is about a five-minute drive, with local restaurants and cafes. I’d recommend it if you want a break from city life. One tip: get cash before you arrive. None of my cards worked at the nearby ATMs, and the hotel doesn’t take credit cards.

We ate here twice with our group and tried a range of traditional Schwäbian dishes. They were well cooked both times, the prices were good, and the service was good too. Lovely countryside around it.

The internet was unreliable, and by 6:30 Friday morning there was no hot water for a shower. The heating had been turned off Thursday evening even though it was 6°C outside. I was in room no. 6, so I can’t say whether the others are the same, but mine smelled like an old kitchen and had lots of flies. I killed more than five and don’t know where they came from. The walls could also use a coat of paint.
