Hotel Senfkorn

There were lots of rooms and a big common room, but the accommodation is an old, run-down hotel. In winter, neither the heating nor the hot water worked. We were later blamed for damage that wasn't our fault, and we were afraid some appliances might fall apart when we used them. We paid a separate deposit and never got it back. Our messages received excuses over the phone, but we never got a written response. A waste of money. It might suit a large group with low expectations.

The deposit still hasn't been returned, and our messages got no response. The heating didn't work and there was no hot water. Some rooms were broken, the toilet wouldn't flush properly, and the counter faucet was broken. In one room, the toilet had been removed and left in the shower.

We stayed at Haus Senfkorn in Eldagsen from June 16th to June 19th, 2022. The house looked good from outside, and the old common room and the other shared areas and rooms were tidy and clean. It's a charming place, though clearly showing its age. The courtyard works well for groups, but its overgrown plants badly need trimming. Inside, the plumbing needs urgent repairs, and the fire safety system needs improvement. The beer tap was out of order, and the sink faucet leaked and couldn't be used. The coffee machine was broken when we arrived. A repair attempt didn't work, but a replacement was brought later that day.

We had a wonderful stay with 9 adults and 3 children. The house was spacious and well-equipped.
