The rooms and the stay itself were fine, but check-in was a problem. We arrived to find the place closed, and neither the number in our reservation nor the one on the door worked. Luckily, the owner spotted us and let us in. We hadn't seen the email with the keybox passwords, and nobody had told us reception wouldn't be open. The restaurant was closed too, even though it was one of the reasons we chose this hotel.

The atmosphere is great, and the staff are so friendly. I'd definitely recommend the Rumpsteak “Mexicano”!

The owners were warm and generous, and the food was excellent. Everything was so charming, clean, and well cared for that this became one of the most pleasant inn stays I've had. It was the first stop on our 9 day trip, and I can't imagine the rest being any better. They set the bar high.

The food is tasty, especially for such moderate prices. A Rumpsteak costs just about 20 Euro. It's out in the countryside, a bit far from the big cities, but perfect if you want somewhere really quiet.

Our stay was enjoyable. It's fairly basic, but the host was excellent and even drove us to the station and picked us up when we went to Frankfurt. Steinau an Der Strasse nearby is worth visiting, especially the Brothers Grimm house.
