The underground garage entrance is too low for a car with a roof box. The staff were helpful and suggested parking on the street or behind the hotel, though street parking is limited to 2 hours during the day. Our room was very spacious and split over two floors with a spiral staircase. The bedroom and bathroom are upstairs, but the bedroom has no door, which could be inconvenient if children are asleep while adults want to watch TV downstairs.

A tasty breakfast with plenty of German options, a big comfortable room and a very reasonable price made this a great choice for our stop on the way from the Netherlands to Italy. Late check-in was easy using the machine outside, since reception was already closed when we arrived. We really appreciated the free private parking. It’s close to the highway, so perfect for a stopover. Would definitely recommend!

Plieningen has a lovely rustic feel, and the hotel is close to plenty of restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, pharmacies, public transport, and well-known attractions. As this was my first time living in Germany, I really enjoyed seeing how much history, culture, food, language, and architecture the country has to offer. I haven't needed much help from the hotel staff since I prefer to tidy up after myself, but they've been very welcoming whenever we've met.

The rooms were fairly spacious and clean, which makes what happened at check-in a real shame. We got in at 1 a.m. with three tired teenagers and couldn't get the self check-in code to work. The number the hotel gave us went unanswered, even when we called again at 2 a.m., so we had to sort things out ourselves. I can only recommend this place if you're comfortable taking that kind of unnecessary risk.

The room and facilities were reasonable, but nobody told me when breakfast ended. By 9:40, it was already over.
