Ibis Budget Stuttgart City Nord

I stayed for four days. The reception staff were friendly and accommodating, but the cleaning was another story. I'm allergic to dust, so I need a dust-free room or I can't sleep. I arrived close to 10 pm on the first day and didn't expect anyone to clean then. Sunday was the second day, and there was no cleaning. On Monday I explained to the cleaning crew that the room was very dusty and I wasn't feeling well, and asked them to clean it. They looked at me strangely and said yes. When I came back a few hours later, the bed was unchanged, though there was a new towel and the trash had been taken out. The floor hadn't been cleaned, and nothing else had been done. The next day, the women told me I wasn't on the list, so they wouldn't clean my room. I said it hadn't been cleaned the day before, but they said it wasn't their problem. I've stayed at more than one Ibis hotel in Germany and Austria, but never one with cleaning this poor.

The rooms are a bit small but okay, and breakfast was decent: not much choice, but the food was fresh and tasty. The metro station is right in front of the hotel. For the price, it's an okay place, and I'd recommend it for a night or two.

It's a nice, quiet area, and the reception staff are extremely friendly. There's a small mini market with soft drinks you can pay for at reception, plus a coffee machine and some seating. The rooms are great for the money, with comfy beds and all you really need. A couple of little annoyances: there's no adjustable showerhead holder, so the water blasted me in the face, and the power sockets are only on one side of the bed. Nothing major, though.

MaybachstraBe is right in front of the hotel, with a direct line to the Airport and the city center close by. The place was clean and the staff were helpful. Perfect, and the best in town.
