Hotel Geissler

A lovely little hotel right in the center of Bad Cannstatt. The Kursaal and the Thermal Bath, the " Solebad Bad Cannstatt", are both around a 5-minute walk away. The rooms were super clean, and the owner was friendly, happy to chat, and clearly put love and care into breakfast. They offer Kangen Water for free, and even the coffee is made with it. I found it much tastier than coffee made with regular tap water.

We picked this hotel because it allows pets at no extra cost and has a small amount of parking. Of the three hotels I stayed in across different cities, this was the cheapest and had the largest room. The building is quite old and looks a bit creepy from outside. The shared areas have that cigarette smell you get in buildings where indoor smoking used to be allowed, though the owners have clearly tried to update the rooms and hallways. It's a bit quaint, and our own room had no smell. There was some road noise at night, but I could ignore it. For the price, the bathroom was great: clean, fairly modern, spacious, with a window, plain white tiles, and its own heater.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, but being so close to the street made it noisy at night. There was good public transport nearby. No fans or air conditioning, though. If you're out late, past 00:00 hrs, you might have to wait outside the door for 10 minutes before someone lets you in.

The staff were friendly, and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and spacious. The toilet was impressively large. There are lots of nearby places for a casual dinner or a proper German meal. Don't be put off by the building's exterior. This is a convenient and affordable place near downtown in Stutgart. It was a shame the hotel's restaurant was closed. I'll stay here again next time I'm in Stuttgart.
