Hotel Waldhorn

Our triple room was lovely and clean, and everyone on staff made us feel welcome. They gave us a map of the city center and showed us which stations would be useful. We came by car, so having the hotel's own parking was a huge bonus. It's easy to reach from the autobahn, and public transport into the center is close by and simple to use. The area is lovely too. We'd definitely recommend staying here.

The receptionists were generally kind, and the hotel was quiet and tidy with clean rooms. Still, I wouldn't arrive expecting too much. The heating didn't work well for me: on my first night, I opened the heater valves but there was no hot water going through the coils. It wasn't extremely cold, but I had to sit under the quilt. The shower flow was too weak for me, and hairdryers aren't in every room, so you have to ask for one. A small fridge for guests' food and a kettle in each room for tea or coffee would be useful. I hope the hotel management reads this and improves what it can.

The room, beds, and location were nice and clean. There was no air conditioning or mini fridge. In summer, leaving the windows open made the room a bit noisy in the morning.

I've returned several times over the past 10 years, and this well-run family hotel has renovated a number of rooms recently. It works well for me because I have relatives nearby, though Degerloch isn't especially convenient for downtown attractions. There are restaurants and small shops within easy walking distance for basic needs. The bus stop is only a few meters away, and the walk to Degerloch U-Bahn station is reasonable. The hotel is on a busy street, so there's traffic noise, along with local church bells at different times of day. My room's air conditioning wasn't active, but the "Rolladen" shades and vented windows kept it comfortable. Electric fans are available if you ask.
