Ferienwohnung Allendorf

There was a lot of noise from the busy road right outside, possibly because of the A45 closure near Lüdenscheid. With the windows and blinds shut in 30°C heat, it still never got quiet. The apartment had potential, but the state it was in and the landlord's attitude made it completely unacceptable for us. The first thing we found on arrival was that the vacation rental hadn't been cleaned. The landlord said he'd come in 30 minutes, so my two children, aged 5 and 8, and I waited in the hot parking lot. He said the cleaning had "apparently been forgotten." They then tried to make up for it in just 15 minutes, and it showed: crumbs on the floor and in the cupboards, clumps of hair in the bathroom, toothpaste marks on the mirror, dirty kitchen cupboards, a disgusting freezer compartment, cigarette odor, and a smelly kitchen towel with mildew stains. There was no house information folder with a no-smoking rule or details about garbage disposal. I even cleaned alongside the landlord. Getting into the apartment didn't go as agreed either, because the key was missing. The landlord grew more and more annoyed and blamed me for not leaving it properly. I asked for appropriate compensation. He said he would talk it over with his son, but I never heard back.
