The garden was a lovely place to walk around, with attractive plants and wildlife. You can take it all in within about an hour. At the back, the old house is visible from outside, and its antique construction feels like a glimpse of another time. The thatched roof really stands out. I arrived by bike early in the morning and found a charming old-style restaurant, but it doesn’t open until around noon. Staff were already there and politely told me it would open at 12:00. Looking inside, I spotted a very tempting range of cakes.

May, when the apples are blossoming, is clearly the best time to visit.

With its old trees and grand manor house, this is somewhere you can really linger.
