Hotel Strasser

The breakfast was generous, with delicious regional products, and we lacked nothing. The family-run hotel is charming, spotless, and has super comfortable beds. The owners are incredibly friendly, and it’s a great starting point for long hikes. We’ll definitely be back.

The breakfast was generous and had plenty of variety, and the staff were attentive and especially friendly without hovering. We felt right at home. The rooms were spacious and very clean, with lots of wood and that cozy Bavarian feel we like. The Aparthotel "Fackler" is peaceful, but local shops and the center are only a five-minute walk away. Tegernsee feels like a little calm pocket in beautiful Bavaria, a welcome break from the bustle and troubles elsewhere in Europe. This was such a pleasant stay, thanks to the staff and management. We’ll be back.

The owners were so welcoming, and the food was really good, made with fresh ingredients. There’s also a daily special that isn’t on the regular menu. The hotel is in a peaceful spot but still close to the town center, so I’d happily stay here again on holiday. They’re currently asking for proof under the 3G COVID-19 rule. That was easy enough, since there’s a testing station just a minute away.

The bathroom could use better lighting and some ventilation, and I found the room quite small and a little impersonal. It was clean, but not very comfortable. At €160 for one night with breakfast, I don’t think the value for money is there. The location was ideal for us, within walking distance of both the lake and the brewery. There was a friendly, family-run feel, and the breakfast was delicious.
