The room was comfortable and had a great lake view, though it felt a bit warm for us even in late October. Tea making equipment isn’t normally provided, but the staff kindly brought us a kettle. The safe in our room didn’t work. Nothing was taken, and I didn’t think there was much risk, but I’d have felt better knowing my camera was somewhere secure. The wonderful staff were so friendly and helpful that staying here was a pleasure. They make a great omelette at breakfast, too. Dinner was superb: the chef clearly knows how to handle ingredients, flavour, and presentation. The hotel is right on the main road running along the lakeside through Tegernsee, as you’d expect from its location. One of the little ferries’ docks is just outside, which is very convenient. Monte-Mare lake spa / sauna is a couple of minutes away, and the hotel can give you a discount card. It was better than any hotel sauna I’ve visited, but you need to watch availability. On weekends you’ll certainly need to book, probably on a Friday, and perhaps on weekdays during the busy season. If you’re choosing between a hotel with its own sauna and this one, two minutes from the Monte-Mare See sauna, I’d pick this hotel.

The hotel has a classical design throughout, which I thought suited Tegernsee. The rooms and bathroom were very clean, and there are parking spaces directly in front. From the balcony, the scenery is absolutely to die for. The staff were super helpful and cheerfully handled all our requests. I liked the good variety at breakfast, though they could have offered a few more options.

The location is great, just steps from a swim in the lake and a really nice spa. We also loved the tasty breakfast, the many choices, and the friendly service. The lake view is lovely, and the interior is super pretty and modern, exactly what I was looking for since I wanted to avoid the traditional Bavarian look.

The buffet breakfast had something for every taste, and it was hard not to eat too much. In the evenings, the well-stocked bar makes very tasty cocktails. The hotel is right across from the lake, with an amazing view in any season. The service, food, and atmosphere were excellent. The rooms are spacious, nicely decorated, and spotless.

This is the best little boutique hotel, right on the lake in a historic building that’s been updated. Walking in feels like stepping into another era. The service is amazingly attentive, and the fish and cheese at the restaurant are fantastic. The room balconies are huge and face the water. This place shows Tegernsee at its best. We’ll book again soon!
