The garden is gorgeous, with plenty of seating for guests, and there are cozy corners throughout the house with an interesting choice of books. The Hartmann family are such welcoming hosts, and we’ve rarely had such a wonderful stay. The breakfast is generous, with delicious homemade jam and fresh fruit salad. Everything was sparkling clean, and all the practical things worked perfectly, from the shower to the heating. We slept surprisingly well, which isn’t always easy when traveling. The old poet's house is small, with only five rooms, and they’re almost always booked, so book quickly if you’d like to stay. You walk in and feel at home right away. We’d love to come back and thank the family sincerely.

The Hartmann family's hospitality and care make this place even more special. They handled my request for an early breakfast easily, since I was away on business, and were just as helpful with excursion ideas and restaurant tips. Breakfast was generous and lovingly prepared, a lovely way to start the day. The old poet's house has a beautiful garden, tastefully furnished rooms, and a spacious lounge for guests. My wife and I travel a lot and have plenty to compare it with, and we’d give it six stars if we could. We hope to return. Many thanks, the Wild family.

A wonderful place to stay in beautiful East Frisia. The rooms are cozy and thoughtfully furnished, and there’s lots to discover in the lovely garden. Breakfast had everything you could want, and the hosts were warm, friendly, and never intrusive.

We felt at home from the moment we arrived at the Poet's House. The Hartmann family gave us the warmest welcome we’ve had at any accommodation, and their lovingly designed house feels like a real haven of peace. Our room, “Africa,” was just right: clean, tidy, and decorated with care in keeping with the rest of the house. Breakfast was fresh and delicious every day, served at our table, and the eggs were perfectly cooked each time 👍🏻 We’d definitely return to the “Old Poet's House.” Keep up the great work, and we look forward to seeing you again. We feel warmly welcomed every time we visit and would gladly return. The Poets' House is a great base for exploring East Frisia. Steffi and Jens run the guesthouse with so much love and enthusiasm, and guests quickly feel at home in the beautiful garden. Breakfast is excellent, with everything you could wish for, and in good weather you can eat on the terrace among grapevines and beautiful hydrangeas. The rooms are spacious, modern, and furnished with an eye for detail. Both hosts know East Frisia inside out and have useful travel tips for longer trips too, including Australia, since Jens also runs a travel agency.
