Central Hotel Torgau

I was locked out of my room after dinner because I’d left the key inside. I called the hotel’s after-hours number ten times and nobody answered, so I eventually got into reception through a window to look for a spare key. The other option was sleeping outside. When the owner finally showed up, I explained calmly, but she called the police instead of helping. The police took me to my room and confirmed the key was inside and that I had no way to get in. They were as surprised by the owner’s reaction as I was. This was a weekday business trip with my colleagues, and there was no alcohol involved. The hotel’s response to my review is grossly misleading and inaccurate. I made the bookings and settled the bill, so none of my colleagues dealt with reception. I paid everything and checked out politely the next day, but never got the apology I expected. I’m still waiting for a sincere, formal apology from the hotel. I’ll reflect that in this review if it comes.

The room was nice, the bed and sheets were perfect, and the staff were friendly. I stayed for two weeks and it was great otherwise, but I had to leave because breakfast starts at 7:00 am. That timing doesn’t work well for workers, even in summer. Everything else was fine.

A really friendly team runs this place. My room was nice, and breakfast was great.

Everything was good: a nice room, very good breakfast, and free parking. It’s right in the center of Torgau.
