The starters were the best part for me. The cheese Riesling soup was so good I could've happily eaten it all night, and the carpaccio impressed us too. My husband’s rump steak was cooked and seasoned nicely, with a very good side salad and rosemary potatoes. My shrimp dish was a letdown by comparison: the shrimp were dry and overcooked, with bits of shell still on a couple of them. The tomato base drowned out the other flavors and came across as an odd mix of soup and pasta sauce with a scoop of rice. The service was very good, and there’s plenty of parking for the restaurant. The walk up through the hotel to the restaurant was impressive, with glass windows and welcoming light. The tables and chairs looked a little dated, though the room was nicely decorated and inviting. This review is only about the restaurant.
