Ferienanlage - Am Moselufer

There was a great long table where all 13 of us could sit comfortably, and the kitchen was well equipped. We stayed for two nights, and the place could easily fit an even larger group. It was good value, with comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. Some of the wallpaper wasn’t very attractive, but it didn’t bother us. Public parking is nearby, and there’s a good train connection to Traben-Trarbach. The view of the Moselle is especially beautiful. We were very happy with our hosts, who even mailed us some things we’d left behind.

The house wasn’t all brand new, but it was clean, the rooms were perfectly adequate, and the beds were very comfortable. All 12 of us agreed we loved the place. We could sit together at one table, and there was plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses, and everything else we needed. The location was fantastic, with a breathtaking view of the Moselle and the ships. We couldn’t understand some of the negative reviews. We’d recommend the house and would book it again ourselves. The location is the only good thing about the house. We stayed there in September 2017 and absolutely wouldn’t recommend it. The whole place was filthy, with mold in the showers, peeling wallpaper, and many broken or badly outdated things. There were dead woodlice everywhere, and live ones in the bedrooms and bathrooms too. See the photos. The owners couldn’t be reached and still haven’t replied to my many complaint emails.

The view is beautiful and the region has a lot to offer, which makes the state of the house a real shame. With some effort, it could be lovely. We rented apartment XL for a long weekend, but it didn’t feel comfortable at all and had the feel of an old youth hostel. The whole apartment was very dirty: the floors hadn’t been vacuumed, dirt was everywhere, the showers were filthy, and plates and pots had stuck-on food from previous guests. We had to wash them, though luckily there was a dishwasher. The refrigerators, microwave, and toaster were filthy as well. Especially with the pandemic, the refrigerator MUST be cleaned thoroughly after each guest. For the price, it wasn’t worth it.
