Parkhotel Wehrle

The young people who served us were wonderful, friendly, and clearly hardworking, and both breakfast and dinner were very good. Dinner was the best we had in town. The spa area was lovely, and we enjoyed it a lot. The hotel is centrally located and has some beautiful features, but the place feels outdated and could use more care and refurbishment. We're less sure about the management. It would have been nice to get help with our luggage, and the hotel won't suit you if you're disabled or need an elevator. The staff are the reason for the four stars. It was a nice hotel, but we won't be back.

We booked half board for three days and two nights, and the dining room was a foodie paradise. Its mix of old and old-modern design made it a romantic setting for a great meal. The hotel has a wonderful Wellness and Spa area, all working perfectly, with a pool, jacuzzi, water beds in the rest area, and several dry and wet saunas. The sauna area is nude only. Our large room in the main building had an even larger bathroom with a jacuzzi bath. This excellent old hotel is in the beautiful Black Forest town of Triberg. We also heard that Napoleon Bonaparte and Ernest Hemingway had stayed here. We'll come back.

The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the hotel is kid friendly. We stayed in a family room with four people and two dogs. There was plenty of parking, a restaurant and bar, and a sauna area with a pool, all close together. The location in the middle of town was handy for the attractions. It was a good first experience of a historic Black Forest hotel, but a few things could've been better. The room needed air conditioning or window screens so we could get fresh or cool air without bugs. The spa and pool were open, but the sauna wasn't running or open during the stated hours. Someone had also removed the pool lights, leaving electrical cables exposed around the pool. Breakfast started with a buffet, but the selection was limited after just 30 minutes, with little choice of fruit or other breakfast foods. There were a few minor issues too, though the staff fixed them quickly. Thanks for the stay. We look forward to seeing the changes before our next visit!

The only drawback was the lack of an elevator. Otherwise, this was a perfect place to stay in the small town, with cozy rooms, a good location, and great food at breakfast. The staff were extremely helpful too. We needed hot water late at night twice, and they were very kind about getting it for us. Highly recommend!
