B&B Hotel Trier

The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the location made it easy to explore historic Trier. My room was tidy and warm, with what I needed for a comfortable night. It was clean, peaceful and relaxing after a long day. I had a very pleasant one-night stay and would recommend this B&B for a quiet, comfortable visit at a good price.

The walk into Trier's center isn't far, though the hotel would be more conveniently placed on the other side of the train station. I was welcomed warmly by the guy at reception, who helped me check in. The price was reasonable and breakfast was good. A few times, noisy guests slamming or knocking on doors disturbed my sleep. I'm also not keen on the keycode entry system.

We were on the third floor in a lovely quiet room, with enough space for all four of us. The shower was good, and we heard no noise from outside or neighboring rooms. It's a little walk from the center, but a pleasant one.

The staff were friendly and spoke English really well. The hotel was very clean, and breakfast was great, with the kind of things I'd expect in France. As someone from the US, I did miss having eggs. The coffee machine was a favorite. The room didn't have some things I'm used to: extra pillows, hand towels along with the bath towels, a phone to call for help, or a coffee maker. I saw that a room with a coffee maker cost an extra 20 euros a night. The hair dryer kept shutting off and didn't work properly. I was caught by surprise at the gate after our third night, where I was charged for parking. I hadn't mentioned the car because the website said parking was free when I booked. The power also went out for about an hour on the morning we left, so packing in the dark was tricky. It wasn't the hotel's fault, and fortunately it came back before we had to carry our bags down three flights of stairs. I'd stay again, but I'd pack differently now that I know what I'd want for comfort. The price was right, and I felt we got fair value for what was provided.
