Berghotel Kockelsberg

For anyone traveling by car who wants quiet surroundings and nature just outside the city, Berghotel Kockelsberg is a great option above Trier. The city views are stunning, and the peaceful atmosphere makes for a relaxing stay. Our room was clean and comfortable, if a little basic. Breakfast was decent, though the selection wasn't extensive.

I arrived quite late at night, but check-in went smoothly and caused no trouble. They even gave me a complimentary room upgrade. The room was spacious and had everything I needed, and there was plenty of parking. The hotel is just outside the city. My stay was amazing, and I'd definitely recommend it.

The owner makes sure guests have what they need, and surprised us with a different room when we checked in, without us asking. It was wonderfully quiet, with a comfortable bed and a breathtaking view across the city as the sun came up. Being up on the mountain, the hotel felt like coming home. Our dog loved running around there, and so did we. At the end of winter the nature was fresh, and it must be beautiful once everything turns green. By car we could quickly reach the city, nearby hiking areas, and the mountain restaurants. It was a great experience, and we'll definitely come back.

Ursula made our stay a pleasure. She's helpful and efficient, running the place on her own, so she isn't there all the time and doesn't tolerate people wasting her time. The rooms are comfortable, with a great bed, and everything was warm and quiet. The shower was powerful and super hot. Breakfast had a great selection, and there's a fridge with beer and cola that guests can access. There is loads of free parking. High up in the hills above Trier, the hotel is quiet and has wonderful views. What a brilliant place to stay!
