Domus Merian XII

The apartment was big, bright, open, and clean, and we loved our stay. Its decor felt unique, artsy, tasteful, and charming. The Easter decorations were a nice touch, and for the first time in a rental, we had more than enough pillows. The thoughtful hosts had just about everything someone on vacation could want: a kettle with assorted teas, a Nespresso and pods, and a drip coffee maker with ground coffee. It’s on a quiet street, about two minutes from the river and some nice restaurants along a cute strip. The old city is around a 10-minute walk, and the Roman bridge is about 20 minutes away. We had a decent view of the mountain over the rooftops. The main bathroom was exceptional. The second bedroom and toilet are off the entry hall, which can be closed off, giving a family plenty of privacy. My teens preferred the massive sofa bed. A few practical details: it’s the only apartment on the top floor of a four-story building, so there’s extra hall space and a greater sense of privacy. The stairwell is wide and well-lit, but there’s no elevator. Laundry is downstairs in the basement. It’s free, though shared.
