Beer was 8 euro, though a normal piksner is 2.5 euro, and they charged 6 euro for bread. The persuasive waiter offers just two choices, which he knows are the most expensive on the menu. He writes the amount on a scrap of paper instead of giving you a bill, and even tried to give me the wrong change. DON'T GO HERE !!! This place is an absolute scam !

We were already worried by the reviews when we started reading them after ordering dinner. There are only a few dishes on the menu, and it has no prices, so we asked the owner the cost of each as he marked them off. You’ll need to speak German to communicate clearly. The main courses are a little pricey for the area, but the portions were large, the meat was locally sourced, and we felt the prices were justified. The food was delicious, we were happy with our choices, and the side salads stood out for their mix of pickled and fresh vegetables. The short menu felt charming, like a simpler time. The owner was kind to us, despite other reviews calling him grumpy. He also showed us the nesting birds on the property and explained that he helps support a colony of 300 local birds that can no longer nest in barns, many of which have been torn down due to environmental laws. Our dinner came to 77 Euro, and we were content to pay it.

The Schnitzel was terrible, and the French fries were greasy. When we asked for ketchup, the grumpy man took us to two big bins of it, though one would have been enough for a whole family. The usual menu wasn’t available, he said, and listed a few dishes without telling us their prices. We both chose Schnitzel with Pommes. The bill, written on a piece of paper, came to 55€ for two bad Schnitzels, a small salad and two drinks. Then he insisted on cash only. When I said I only had a card, he insulted me and told me to follow him into the hotel. I’d never recommend this “Restaurnt” to anyone. Stay away, it’s a scam!

After a long motorbike trip, we stopped hoping for good German food in nice surroundings. The place looks appealing from the road, but the food tasted awful and it felt like a rip off. The waiter smoothly talks you through the specials without saying they’re priced like a Michelin restaurant. I wish I’d read the reviews first. I’d steer clear.
