Hotel am Kupferhammer

The location was great, just 1 minute from a train station and a grocery store, and 10 minutes from the old city centre. The rooms were clean enough, but the internet was unreliable and basically nonexistent. My bathroom towel rack was dusty, including where the towel hung, and there was hair on the soap dispenser that wasn’t mine. The shower curtain had no weight at the bottom, so a draft kept blowing it around and making it stick to me. My room faced the parking lot, with car windshields directly looking in from cars parked 1 foot from the window. The curtains didn’t cover the full width of the window, so they weren’t blackout and didn’t offer much privacy. There was also only one outlet near the bed, and the bedside lamps were using it, so I had to choose.

The old town is a bit far away, but this is a comfortable hotel with all the basics, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for that. The crew were kind, and breakfast was good, especially the coffee.

We had a very pleasant two-night stay at this small hotel. There was no breakfast because of Covid19 restrictions, but a bakery is a 6-minute walk away, and the hotel can provide a kettle if you ask. The room and bathroom were small but well equipped, and the Wi-Fi was fine. The townhall and other buildings in the Altstadt are about a 15-minute walk away.

A fabulous place to stay! The staff are friendly and helpful.
