This was my second visit, and I only went to the restaurant. The indoor barbecue is really superb, with great-quality meat cooked just right over an open wood fire. The place stays busy all week. Our group of 11 clearly overwhelmed the kitchen, and dinner took more than four hours. It would have been much more pleasant if we'd split into two or three tables.

The central BBQ/grill gives the restaurant a lovely warmth, and we got a very friendly welcome. They also speak good English, which helps if your German is limited. We had tasty, meaty local soup with dumplings, then a 550g oxcutlet cooked perfectly with fries. I managed to finish it, though I got major meat sweats! We added vegetables and zweblen (?) fried onions. Some of our group skipped dessert, but those who had some weren't disappointed. A really good place to eat.

The restaurant is very posh. I was there for an old timers rally in the field by the hotel, and I think they hold these events regularly.

Dinner was okay, but nothing more. The view was the one good thing about our stay. We spent one night at the hotel, and the room was unacceptable: cobwebs everywhere, a hole and a crack in the balcony door, and a bathroom that left a lot to be desired. The shower was filthy. Breakfast was a disaster too. The milk jug was dirty, the partly used bottle of sparkling water had gone flat, the cold cuts had definitely seen better days, and the pre-baked rolls tasted like cardboard. We've stayed in many hotels, but this was by far the worst. All in all, a complete no-go.
