The dining rooms have a cosy, atmospheric feel, with tables neatly set in white tablecloths. Photos and keepsakes belonging to the owners decorate the walls and can be a nice conversation starter, especially as both of them ride motorcycles. The food was excellent, and the service attentive and friendly. The building is a little dated, which shows in the restrooms.

The chicken here is the best for miles around. It's one of the oldest and tastiest restaurants in Saarland, with delicious food, a pleasant atmosphere full of character, and the kind of home-style cooking you'd expect.

We'd heard this place was known for grilled chicken, and it lived up to that. There are several versions, including classic, extra spicy, American, and curry, each served with fries and a side salad. We chose the classic chicken 'Zur Hexe' today. The salad was absolutely fresh, the chicken was well seasoned and crispy, and the fries were delicious too. The service was super friendly. The menu isn't extensive. Next time we'll try the schnitzel. It's simply good home-style cooking, and we highly recommend it. We'll be back, and we're looking forward to the beer garden in summer.
