Hotel Restaurant Capri

Beautiful.

Best of Uberlingen.

The room was spacious and the location is great, near both the lake and old town, but the stay was disappointing. We only got the self check-in and parking details on the day we arrived, it was confusing to find our room, and the floor wasn't very clean, which mattered with a toddler. The owner's response to my feedback was the biggest disappointment. After I posted a review, she privately messaged me to say she'd already told her husband before I arrived that I would probably be "an issue". That felt dismissive and unprofessional. Specific, constructive criticism that could help the business should be taken seriously, rather than met with personal assumptions about guests. After reading the owner's public response, I still don't understand what "first impression" she thinks my review confirms. The concerns I raised, including in person, describe my experience and specific issues factually. Readers can look at my feedback and the response and draw their own conclusions.

We had a great stay and would happily return. Our room was very large, clean, and had comfortable beds that let us sleep well. The coffee machine in reception offered delicious hot drinks for free, and check-in and checkout were friendly and courteous. Parking in the nearby garage was available at reasonable rates. The location by Überlingen harbor is perfect, with cafés, restaurants and shops all within walking distance. We enjoyed strolling along the lovely lake promenade and taking in the atmosphere.
