The indoor Christmas Market was packed. A weekday might be a better time to go, and I wouldn’t choose a Saturday. I also went for a reading and concert, but afterward it was dark and there wasn’t proper lighting along the way to the bus pickup point. That could be difficult for older visitors or anyone using a rollator.

The room was very clean and comfortable, and the grounds were gorgeous. We were there for a family wedding and stayed two nights, including one in our campervan. The staff were very helpful, and the catering was excellent. The campervan parking fee was €35, which seemed inexplicably expensive since there was no access to water, electricity, or washing and cleaning facilities. For what we paid for the room, it would also have been nice to have tea and coffee-making facilities and a bottle of water each, rather than one for two people.

The staff were so kind and accommodating, and we had a comfortable stay in lovely surroundings. Schloss Ulrichschusen made such a beautiful wedding venue, like something out of a fairy tale. Thank you for a trip of a lifetime!

There’s a lot of history around this castle, which dates from the 16th century. We visited and stopped for coffee. It’s a beautiful place to see and stay, though the prices are a bit high.

The restaurant sits over a small pond and feels exclusive, though it’s pricey. The castle is nicely preserved and has a hotel, restaurant, and concert hall.
