10/10
Breakfast costs 12€ and isn’t included, and there’s parking for cars. The rooms are small but clean, and fit the hotel’s style. The staff are lovely people. Schrenkhof is a wonderful place with its own energy, right next to a park. It felt like stepping into a gingerbread house in a fairy tale. Every detail seems thought through, with so many interesting antique things that you don’t know where to look. This hotel is worth a visit just to experience that feeling.

10/10
The breakfast was amazing, and the staff were among the friendliest we’ve met in any hotel. We ended up here at the last minute after a problem with our booking elsewhere, and it turned out to be beautiful, with stunning rooms and a wonderful owner. We stayed in a third-floor room with a lovely window area. The slanted ceiling blocked some of the sunrise light, so it was easier to sleep in, though getting out of bed was tricky because you could hit your head. If you’re tall, you may want to ask for a first- or second-floor room. We’ll definitely come back when we’re next in Munich.

The rooms were spacious and quiet, with typically Bavarian, old-school hunting-style furnishings. Breakfast was very poor, so I’m giving it three stars.

A lovely atmosphere and helpful staff, with rooms that feel like a refreshing change from standardized, dull hotels.

A nice hotel at a reasonable price, very close to Monaco.
