Pension an Bord

Breakfast was the best we’ve ever had, and the room was spotless too. Thanks for such great service. I’d highly recommend this hotel.

The room, breakfast, and dinner were all excellent, and we were happy with everything. We spent 10 days at Strandhotel Gästehaus Am Bord. Our place was behind the main building, which suited us much better since it was quieter and more comfortable.

The breakfast buffet was unbeatable, with a huge selection and lovely presentation, and it was included in the room price. We’ve paid a lot more on trips for poorer rooms without breakfast, so I’d still recommend staying here. The rooms are small but very chic, with a great bathroom and shower. We were glad we finally managed to get a room after several unsuccessful attempts, and it’s easy to see why “An Bord” is so popular. There were a few things that could be better. The TV is more like a computer monitor, and it would be fine if there were more channels than just public broadcasters. Check-in is next door rather than in the designated area. There was a small sign on the window, but we missed it, and staff passing by could have let us know we were in the wrong place. We also only spotted a tiny Wi-Fi sign at checkout. There was no information in the room and the staff didn’t mention it, so the information for guests could definitely be improved.

Breakfast with a view of the Wadden Sea was fantastic, and the guesthouse is modern and very pleasant. The staff were friendly and the food was good. The only letdown was the reserved breakfast table. Despite the sign, other guests occupied it every morning, so our reservation didn’t work out. That was partly on the staff, but some guests were cheeky too.
