The apartment was cold, the pillows very flat, and the bedroom carpet had large stains. There was no hairdryer, even though one was listed as an amenity. Breakfast was set out on a separate table. The service was only in German, although Booking.com also listed English. At checkout we paid €376.50, even though Booking.com showed a total of €350, supposedly because of a breakfast tax. When I've booked through Booking.com before, I've paid the reservation price, sometimes with a tourist tax and a separate dog fee. I think this was unfair. The €30 dog fee wasn't on the bill, payment was cash only, and they gave us no receipt, just a handwritten bill. The price didn't match the quality at all.

The service was quick and friendly, and we had a lovely evening at the Spreewaldhof with family. Both the schnitzel with asparagus and the horseradish schnitzel were fantastic. I can highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you!

The Wi-Fi listed in the hotel description only worked in public areas, not in the rooms. Our stay at the Spreewaldhof in Vetschau recently fell short in several ways. When we arrived, my parents' room had no toilet paper or towels. In our room, we found an open packet of gummy bears behind the bedside table, left by the previous guest, and the cleaning overall seemed superficial. Dinner was disappointing too: the farmer's breakfast had pieces of eggshell in it, and the drink was flat and completely fizzy, served in a visibly dirty glass. To their credit, they replaced the glass right away without any fuss when we mentioned it. Breakfast wasn't much better, with stale, soggy cornflakes. The checkout price also differed from what we'd been told by email, but after we spoke in person on the day we left, they sorted it out and gave us a discount. We really appreciated that. Even so, the stay didn't meet the expected standard, and cleanliness, communication, and sticking to booking agreements all need improvement.
