The €100 deposit was later kept for reasons we couldn't understand, with the dishes supposedly dirty. That followed complaints that weren't taken seriously when we left. We booked because water access was promised, but a continuous fence blocked the path to the jetty, and nobody had warned us. Inside, the place was run-down, carelessly furnished, and lacking charm. The kitchen was far too small. Dishes and windows were dirty, lampshades had dead flies, and there were cobwebs in many corners. One room's shower jets were completely broken, while the others were clogged with limescale and barely had any water. We even had to clean the dishwasher on arrival because its jets were dirty. The TV was broken too, though it was replaced. What a rip-off.

Two weeks after we left, an email said our deposit would be kept because the dishwasher supposedly had eggshells in it and took a huge cleaning effort. They also claimed every dish had to be washed again, some by hand, including a salad spinner none of us had used. That's outrageous. Before that, we'd already seen a bad review here about the deposit, and then got the same sort of email ourselves. From the start, the house was filthy: dirty dishes, grimy windows, lampshades full of dead flies, and the children's socks were black after just half an hour. The shower jets in one room were completely broken. The kitchen was much too small for 15 people, with a small fridge and small pots. Water access had been promised, but a continuous fence blocked the way to the jetty, and nobody told us. The large outdoor area was the only good part. After a week we handed the house back, and everything seemed fine. We just accepted the place as it was, since there aren't many options for 14 people.

The grounds were the one thing we liked. The lake access couldn't be used, and the swing set was broken and rusted through. I doubt that the so-called "playground" had been inspected, yet the landlord promptly charged us, saying we'd damaged it. We stayed at the Seebeck holiday resort from June 4th to 6th. The place was filthy, as if nobody had cleaned it despite its having been closed for a long time because of Covid. Several appliances didn't work, including the coffee machine, and water leaked from the bottom of the dishwasher. One bathroom only had a cold shower. We're still waiting for our deposit back and have filed a police report, but the landlord still hasn't responded. We made the best of it anyway. One star for the grounds.

The grounds were the only good part. As for getting the full deposit back, it seems that keeping some of it is standard practice here. Why weren't any problems recorded at handover? We were told the owners had been in the house the day before we arrived. They might want to make an appointment with Fielmann, because I've never seen windows this filthy. You could hardly see through them, and we thought it was raining nonstop. The cups were dirty too, as if someone had used them, left them out, and put them back in the cupboard. The lamps were covered in dead flies. Cleanliness and order were nowhere to be seen. I'll upload photos of the lamps later.
