We came for the local wine festival, which was just around the corner, and the hotel was perfectly placed for the town centre. Our twin room was large and airy, with plenty of windows and a fan that kept it cool overnight. Breakfast had lots to choose from, including cold meats, cheese, fresh fruit and hot dishes. The staff were friendly and happy to help, and the hotel itself was lovely. Highly recommended.

We were lucky to catch the restaurant during pfifferling season, and the mushrooms with an added steak made for the best meal of our trip. The owner and chef deserves to be much better known. We also enjoyed a locally grown Franken wine, which is a must try. The restaurant is only open three nights a week, so give it a try if you happen to be there on one of those evenings. We loved our stay at Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten and every minute in this charming town. Even during record breaking summer heat, our corner room stayed comfortable with a ceiling fan, an extra floor fan and windows on two sides. After two weeks of great breakfasts in Germany and Austria, the variety and quality here in tiny Volksach were hard to match. The service was fantastic.
