Hotel Ederseeblick

The rooms feel a little dated, and the cleaning could be more thorough. Still, the owners are friendly, the service is good, and the location comes with pleasant views. There’s a nice terrace overlooking the lake, decent food at good prices, and a huge, tasty breakfast buffet.

We were five people on a motorbike trip, and this hotel was in a fantastic spot. The rooms were all lovely, with beautiful, practical bathrooms, and parking was free. Staff were very friendly and helpful at reception. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and a great breakfast. My highlight was an evening walk to the Dam to see it lit up from the other side, followed by the stars and a peaceful morning swim in the reservoir.

The restaurant deserves 5 stars: attentive service, a good small menu, a modern, warm and cozy feel, and a great view. The dishes were beautifully presented, hot and delicious. The hotel is another story, just 1 star. We got a very warm welcome, good parking, and a room on the 3rd floor with a fantastic view. The bathroom is a good size, with both a shower and a bathtub, but it’s old, and the tiles and walls are cracked. The rooms are large but very worn, with cracks everywhere, and freezing cold because the heating can’t keep up. The mattresses need replacing, too. It’s a shame, because there’s real potential here: a great location, large rooms, a superb restaurant, good parking, and a warm welcome. I clearly recommend the restaurant, but not the hotel.
