Astralis Hotel Domizil

A handy hotel for a stopover, with very friendly staff, a good breakfast, air conditioning in the room, plus a spa and small gym. The room wasn’t dirty, though the cleaning could be better.

We’d happily recommend this place to anyone traveling with a dog. Our stay was really positive: the room was good, breakfast was great, and the service stood out. Lukas welcomed us and was both friendly and helpful. He also pointed us to a fantastic place for dinner.

The second stay was just as disappointing as the first. We picked it as an overnight stop on the way home from vacation because it looked close to the Autobahn and had good reviews. We’d forgotten we’d stayed a year earlier, but remembered the bad experience as soon as we arrived. That’s the last time we’ll visit. For a four star hotel, the quality falls well short of what I expected. Three stars would be more accurate.

The breakfast was a highlight, with plenty of choices and amazing coffee, and the staff were all kind, honest, and helpful. The hotel is small and has a warm, intimate feel, with pleasant, bright decor. It’s close to the center of Walldorf but tucked away in a quiet area, and there’s free parking for several cars as well as free trekking bikes. My medium-sized room had the necessary things, including a minibar, tea set, ironing set, and curtains. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom had a shower, and everything was clean and working well.
