Wattenblick

The housekeeper was friendly, available whenever we had a request, and took good care of us. We stayed in winter as three adults and a three-year-old, and all felt comfortable in the spacious, nicely furnished apartment. After a walk from the beach, the sauna was just right in the cold weather. We had a wonderful stay and would happily come back.

The one thing we missed was a sandy beach. You can see the dike from the house, with the Wadden Sea beyond it. Still, Büsum’s town center and its range of supermarkets are easy to reach, as are Friedrichskoog, Heide and St. Peter-Ording. We stayed in Lachmöwe, which had plenty of space for four, plus a sofa bed in addition to the four beds. It was comfortably furnished, with a balcony and a very well-equipped kitchen that lacked almost nothing. The bathroom has a big tub, two sinks and a washing machine, and there’s a children’s playground in the garden.

It’s a peaceful spot, with views of the dike, the garden and fields. Büsum is only about a five-minute drive away. The holiday apartment is very nice and has everything you need, plus a really large, fully covered balcony.

The garden was a lovely place to sit, with comfortable furniture and a beautiful view over meadows toward the dike. It’s spacious, and the barbecue area is screened off from the house, so guests in the neighboring apartment weren’t disturbed. The dike is a 5-10 minute walk away, with great views across the Wadden Sea and places to stop for cake or a light snack. Shops are easy to get to by car in Büsum, Heide and Meldorf, with a wide selection and some open on Saturday afternoons and Sundays. We spent a wonderful week there over Easter in the Oystercatcher apartment at Wattenblick and felt very comfortable. It has two bedrooms with double beds, a large bathroom with a bidet and sauna, and a separate toilet with a sink and washing machine. Even when the weather was bad, the armchairs with footstools, comfortable sofa and sauna made it a cozy place to be. The kitchen had all we needed to cook, including tasteful dishes. We’ll definitely come back!
