We had a great time and I’d stay here again if I’m in the area. The owners were awesome, and the food was great, including an excellent breakfast. The rooms were small but accommodating, which is understandable at a historical site where there isn’t much you can change. There was a lot of traffic on the road outside, but that was because construction elsewhere in town had redirected it past the hotel. If you’re not too picky about old hotels, this is the place for you.

The staff were friendly and the room was clean, but the night was extremely uncomfortable because of the outside temperature and almost nonexistent ventilation in the attic room. The window only opened partway before the bed frame stopped it, and there was no fan. The bed was uncomfortable and made loud noises as soon as I moved. Power sockets weren’t conveniently placed, there was no bedside lighting, and the bathroom lighting was far too dim. The toilet blocked the shower entrance, the shower fitting kept falling off the wall, and the shower door didn’t work. Noise from the main road kept disturbing my sleep all evening. There were no refreshments in the room, such as a minibar or tea and coffee facilities.
