I had confirmed dates available, then tried calling and emailing dozens of times about the booking. I got no response or callback with any updates. After many more attempts, I finally spoke to someone for the first time in three weeks, only to learn that my earlier request had been ignored and the room was no longer available. They said to call back within two hours for a scheduled call. When I did, no one was there again, which sadly didn't surprise me. I'm appalled by the lack of communication and customer service.

The hospitality was wonderful, the wines excellent, and the rooms beautiful. Breakfast felt wonderfully romantic.
Peter Giwer's wines feel far from mainstream while remaining rooted in refined wine tradition. He brings passion, innovation, experience, and tradition together, shaping each wine with all his senses and a joyful energy. He's described as a winemaker, but to me he's a wine creator. His work reflects each wine's distinct character. The Giwers are warm, thoughtful hosts who make it easy to feel accepted and at home. Their hospitality creates an intimate connection between people and wine. The experience is all about being present, taking in the senses, the tableware, the candlelight, and the guest. Peter stays down-to-earth and honest, and is closely tied to Wasserliesch in the Trier region. The family carefully tends almost six hectares, with a particular focus on Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, and Ebling, one of Europe's oldest cultivated grapevines. In the evening, I left everyday life behind with a fresh, slightly sparkling Ebling and a dreamy view across the Giwers' farm landscape. I noticed delicate ripe lemon and green apple notes. The acidity was pleasant and didn't bother my body at all. That's what a wine with character tastes like, and it goes well with a snack. I enjoyed embracing the art of good food and wine here with the Giwer family.
We wanted to see whether a stay at the guesthouse matched all the positive reviews, but we're still waiting for a reply. My email from November 21st went unanswered, the owner's wife never made the promised callback, and our last message through the booking portal on the website during Advent had still received no response by January 4th. That doesn't feel professional to me.
This is the best place I know. The rooms are great, the hosts are so lovely and friendly, and the wine is the best. You absolutely have to go!
