Hotel Pappelhof

We stayed two nights with breakfast included. The room and bathroom were basic but clean, the staff were friendly, and breakfast was good.

We only stopped for one night on the way home from Corsica, but we’d like to come back for a few days. The hotel is about 30 minutes from Nuerbergring, and the location is excellent for motorbike rides. There’s a secure garage with cameras and a workshop where you can sort out little bike issues under cover. The room was perfectly adequate, the menu was good, and the host was friendly. Highly recommended, especially for bikers.

The hotel has so much charm, with an old style and a character of its own that I hope it never loses. Our room had a terrace overlooking the lake, and the setting by the forest was great for walks and bike routes. They let us charge our ebike, and bikes are available to rent. There’s mini golf too, and the bar opens in the evening. The food was delicious, and breakfast had loads of choice. They even made us as many fresh eggs as we wanted. The staff were so friendly and helpful, always making us feel at home. I came here to switch off, and it was just right for that. You do need transport, since the supermarket and Trier are a bit far away, though there are several villages around 3-4 km away, and some farther on. I’ll definitely come back. People like this make me happy to spend my money. Thank you.

I haven’t stayed overnight, but it’s a really nice spot to stop for a drink and something to eat. The staff are friendly and always make us feel welcome.
