The bar has a lovely, lively atmosphere, and the bartender is a real professional who clearly loves the craft. Along with cocktails, he serves up smiles and makes guests feel welcome. Highly recommend this place!

At 20€ per person for breakfast, I’ll pass. Luckily there are plenty of cheaper options across the street. The room feels old and has creepy paintings. This used to be a good stop on our car trips, but breakfast matters to me, so I don’t think I’ll return unless they bring back the previous offer.

The restaurant service was poor too. They seated us reluctantly and kept reminding us that a group would be arriving soon, basically telling us to hurry, as though we weren’t paying guests with the same rights. We’d just landed in Basel, picked up our car, and arrived to find all three elevators out of order. We were put on the seventh floor because a large group of elderly guests had booked the lower floors, and the hotel said it couldn’t move us. I’m 53 and have a knee replacement, but that apparently didn’t matter. They offered free cancellation, but finding another hotel at the same €120 per night at the last minute was nearly impossible, so we felt we had no real choice but to stay. Previous reviews suggested the elevator problem had been happening since November, when only one elevator was working. The hotel is rated 4-star, but felt more like 2-star to me. The rooms and facilities look stuck in the 80s, though that wasn’t even the main issue. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was a very disappointing experience for a supposed 4-star hotel.

It’s very close to the highway, so getting here was easy, and the large car park was well equipped. We were satisfied with that. The triple room was very large, and the beds were comfortable and roomy. The hotel and room facilities are showing their age. Breakfast was very satisfying, though, and I liked the bar on the lobby floor.
