I’ve stayed here at least 20 times because I really like the building, service, staff, reception, rooms and facilities. They’re all top-notch. The one thing I hope they’ll replace is the bed linen and cover sheets. They’re terrible, and I sweat so badly that I wake up in the middle of the night every time. I’d rather not have to look for another hotel.

It has the feel of a charming old Mercedes Benz from the 80s. Plenty of things aren’t perfect, but there’s still something nice about it. It could use some love and care. A renovation might take away the charm, though.

The hotel was fine for the price, and the area is peaceful. There’s a bakery and a couple of supermarkets close by. It’s about 5km from Weimar. The need for refurbishment is reflected in what it costs.

The breakfast was good, and I especially liked that they provide syrup and whipped cream. You don’t get that at every hotel. The staff were friendly and attentive, which helped make the price feel reasonable, even though the room and building style aren’t much to expect. It probably could do with renovation by now :)

For the price, we expected this to be the best stay of our three-week German holiday, since it was the last and most expensive one. Our family room for four had no air conditioning, kettle, spoon or fridge, and it was +28 inside. There were extra costs for local tax, an additional swimming towel and parking. Very disappointing. Never again.
