Hotel Schillerhof Weimar

The staff really made us feel at ease, and the hotel has an elegant atmosphere without feeling pretentious. We had a magical, memorable stay at Schillerhof from 27th December to 30th December, between Christmas and New Year. It’s in a superb spot and the rooms are beautifully designed. Breakfast cost 25€, which we think is quite a lot, though the food was delicious. Vegans can find plenty at the buffet without asking, including oats, muesli, nuts, dried and fresh fruit, tomatoes, cucumber, olives, peppers, margarine, and oat / soya milk. When I mentioned I was vegan, they also brought me a special platter with vegan cheese, vegan salami, and vegan salmon. If you like those kinds of things or have other dietary needs, it’s worth telling the hotel before you arrive. Thanks to everyone for going the extra mile. We can’t recommend this place highly enough.

The self check-in was easy, and the place was clean and pleasant, even with a limited front desk. Just remember the night door. :) And don’t use the nearby parking house, it’s a rip-off at €35 a day!!

I enjoyed my stay at the end of Oktober. It’s a fairly new hotel in a fantastic spot in beautiful Weimar, with very good service and breakfast.

The location is nice, but the downsides pile up. The room was very small, with no cupboards or other amenities, and parking was difficult. The keys only worked about half the time. Breakfast didn’t feel worth 25 euros, and the staff seemed frustrated all the time. Better not ask for anything or for a refill.
