Seebauer Hotel Gut Wildbad

The free upgrade gave me a room with a balcony, which was a nice perk. Breakfast was good, and the service was fine. The hotel is set in nature and has a sauna plus a small indoor pool. The rooms are old, and getting around isn't easy: there's no lift to the upper floors or restaurant, and the place isn't accessible. There's no AC either. If you leave a window open, keep an eye out. I saw the biggest bees ever.

Dinner and breakfast both came with plenty to choose from. Dinner had a big cold salad spread and several hot pastas. In the morning there was fruit, bread, cereal, meat and cheese, plus hot and cold drinks. They were included in our stay, so I don't know the à la carte prices, but I thought breakfast was very good. We were a group of 28 staying one night and got rooms ranging from singles to doubles, triples, and quads. My single was in a separate building above the restaurant, while my daughter had a quad across from the restaurant, next to the owners, I think. Mine felt much more modern than my colleague's room. It also faced an open field and was quieter, while hers looked toward other rooms and the parking lot. The owner was very accommodating with our group spread across the property. There was no elevator to my room, so he carried luggage upstairs for my neighbor and me, as well as for a few others. I only saw a pretty garden by the entrance and some outdoor games, maybe mini golf, since our stay was so short. One thing to watch: the windows tilt or swing open without screens, so bugs can get in at night when the room lights are on.

The walking and biking trail was a nice touch, and the place itself had a really neat feel. I was there for one night with a tour group from the USA. Dinner and breakfast both had plenty of options for different diets.

The views from the rooms were amazing, and breakfast and dinner were great too. Beautiful hotel, just awesome in general. I'd definitely stay there again.
