The hotel is set up to handle large groups and feels modern. I spent five nights there on a Great Rail Journey's holiday. My room was very comfortable, with good facilities, and the staff were helpful. The self-service restaurant was a bit hit and miss, though the choice and value were generally good. Local attractions were easy to reach.

It's a nice, clean hotel in a good location, with a decent standard room and okay food. I might give it another try, but only after checking that there isn't a special event on. We arrived on the same day as the Mrs/Miss Deutchland election, and the reception was packed, with a 20-minute wait standing up. Breakfast was noisy and crowded, and the staff seemed overwhelmed. There were no bathrobes for the sauna, so we were told to use the regular towels from our room. The spa hours also weren't clearly posted.

My room was very comfortable, and both the food and service were good. I stayed as part of a Railtours experience and found the staff helpful. The bar was the one low point: it was very dingy, smelled strongly of smoke, and the drinks were much too expensive.

The chef kindly made me a special meal at dinner, which I really appreciated since the evening buffet had very little for vegans. Breakfast was much better for that, with an amazingly varied buffet. I was here with a tour group, and found the rooms immaculate and the staff lovely and friendly. I enjoyed my stay :)
