Pretty nice place, though the house amenities could use some improvement.

We were four people and all felt at home in this clean, modern holiday apartment. It’s tucked close to the city center, but the street is so peaceful you can sleep with the window open.

We spent the long weekend with the Miehe family for the 35th anniversary of German Unity Day, staying in the two ground-floor apartments, one 35 sq m and the other 84 sq m. The old walls have been updated thoughtfully, and the apartments feel welcoming, with lots of attention to detail. We had everything we needed. The Miehe family were kind and clearly cared about making guests comfortable. Many thanks from the Rhine for such a lovely stay in Wernigerode. Wernigerode itself is always worth another visit. It’s a historic town with plenty of culture, but it keeps changing too. Behind those half-timbered walls, you can see the idea of “Adapt or perish” at work. Every walk through town or hike on the surrounding paths feels like exploring again, because there’s always something new to find.

The apartment was spotless and perfectly adequate, and the owners were friendly and ready to help. It’s peaceful despite being close to the center. I also think the price is excellent for what you get. Wernigerode has plenty going on, with strong food, art, and cultural offerings, and is well set up for visitors. Definitely a town worth returning to.
