We were staying nearby and kept running into closed restaurants over the Christmas and New Year stretch, so it was a relief to find Gasthof Schiller open. It was busy, which made sense once we’d tried the food. The dishes were really tasty, and most of the beer comes from the area. The inside feels authentic too. I can only speak for the restaurant since that’s all we visited, but it’s well worth a stop.

The beds are comfortable, breakfast is good, and the coffee is especially nice for getting the day started before a trip. Gasthof Schiller is a lovely family-run hotel in a peaceful village, and it’s always nice to come back.

We always come back when we’re in the area, and it’s great every time. The beer garden has plenty of seating beneath lovely leafy trees, with a relaxed, friendly feel. The service is warm, the food is great, and there are some excellent locally brewed beers to try.

You collect your own food and drinks in the biergarten, so there isn’t table service there. I usually pay in cash. The food and service are excellent, and it’s a great Franconian biergarten and restaurant. I haven’t stayed at the hotel, so I can’t comment on that.

There’s lots of room in the lovely beer garden, plus a great playground for younger kids. The restaurant serves excellent local Franconian food, and the Schaueferla mit Kloss is especially recommended. Buttenheimer Bier on tap is excellent too. It’s always a great experience!
